A delightful happenstance of running a natural farm has been the opportunity to share our adventures as a family, via a media platform as expansive as Deccan Herald, the beloved newspaper I was raised on. And so ‘Rooting For Nature’ is a coalescence of my love for writing, farming, nature and commonsensical, sustainable living.
The column publishes once a month on a Sunday, in the ‘Art and Pursuits’ page. It is where I chronicle our foibles, follies and brush with mysterious wild denizens and an odd human, even as we restore Navilu Kaadu, a land once poisoned with lethal chemical pesticides and weedicides, into a biodiverse wild farm and a zero-chemical food forest for humans and wild beings. Writing this column gives me much joy, and hearing back from readers of the column has been amplifying the joy many times over.
Thank you for reading. 🙂
